Check my art

Michaela really enjoys art... her drawings truly stands out among the other kids in her class. This image of our family was so well thought out, she says that's Malachi saying pick me up.

Cowgirls

Michaela turns 6

Today Michaela turned 6 years old... how time has swooshed by, just the other day she was crawling.

She came running down the passage at 6AM shouting "I am the birthday girl, I am the birthday girl" :)

So for her bday, dad took half day at work and fetched her from school at 12:30. She then said she wanted Mc Donalds and to go to the beach. We eventually ended up playing games at the boardwalk and having ice cream.

Later the night, we all went to Spur and they sang for her.

I thank God for you everyday Michaela. Don't let the world make you a copy, cause God definitely made you very unique my girl.

Technology kids

I sometimes marvel at the level of understanding our kids have with technology... from figuring out our lock screen patterns to downloading and installing games from Google Play - and they can't even read, but they can correctly guess what the X or install buttons do.

Sometimes I have to force take the tablets away from them as they can spend hours non stop on it... what will there kids be like I ask myself.

Kids of today are much less physically active playing games and more and more glued to the technology... from playing games to coloring in to learning shapes/maths or even how to be a doctor.

Maybe it's not such a bad thing, I guess only the future will tell what the influence of technology at such a early has on them.

Our soft hearted child

Michael has always been the soft spirited girl who gets very emotional watching movies where people die or has a sad moment.

While watching Hachiko the other night she could not bring herself to stop crying after the dog could not find he's owner... she just poured out with tears... same happened when her puppy died and even her goldfish.

I remember being the same watching Lassie when I was smaller.
